ABOUT

Adam Lamoureux is a Canadian-born tenor saxophonist, composer, and bandleader based in New York City. Described by WKCR Radio as “one of the brightest young voices on the tenor saxophone,” Adam has performed at renowned venues including Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Birdland, The Jazz Gallery, Stanford University, and Kuumbwa Jazz Center, collaborating with GRAMMY-winning and acclaimed artists such as John Benitez, Marc Cary, Ingrid Jensen, and E.J. Strickland.

In addition to performing, Adam is an accomplished film composer, with scores featured in multiple feature and short films, including a documentary with Academy Award (OSCAR)–winner Whoopi Goldberg. He is also the co-founder of ÆTHR, a sonic design studio creating immersive sound environments for hospitality and experiential spaces. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, Adam has participated in the 2022 Jazz Aspen Snowmass Academy and the 2024 Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Program at the John F. Kennedy Center directed by Jason Moran.

Adam’s artistry has been recognized through multiple honors, including a 2023 DownBeat Student Award, the 2019 Rico Golden Reed Award, and being a winner in the Under 25 category of the 7 Virtual Jazz Competition.

As a bandleader, he leads a quartet performing his original compositions, noted for their energy, lyricism, and modern yet tradition-honoring sound. Adam continues to collaborate with leading artists of his generation and beyond, preparing to release his debut album.
